What does this license mean?

The Harbour Proprietary License is a restrictive license designed to protect our intellectual property rights. Unlike permissive open-source licenses (such as MIT), this license places significant restrictions on how our software can be used, modified, and distributed.

Key Points

  • Personal Use Only - You may use our software for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • No Modifications - You may not modify or create derivative works without our permission
  • No Distribution - You may not distribute our software to others
  • No Commercial Use - Commercial use requires a separate agreement
  • Attribution Required - All copyright and attribution notices must be maintained
  • No Reverse Engineering - You may not attempt to reverse engineer our code

Why This License?

We've chosen this license to protect our intellectual property and ensure that our software is used as intended. This allows us to maintain control over our code while still making it available for personal use.

Special Permissions

If you wish to use our software in ways not permitted by this license (such as for commercial purposes or to create derivative works), please contact us to discuss a custom licensing arrangement.
